Quick reminder: 1 week left to win a copy of Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day! This also makes a great gift for anyone that loves bread and baking.
In the tradition of Follow Fridays on Twitter, I want to present proper recognition to bloggers that inspire me and tickle my fancies.
Every other Friday, I’ll shout out a uniquely outstanding blog and feature it on my side panel for the remainder of the time.
keep your diet real

As you may recall, I made some food resolutions in the New Year. I later expanded it into an article for Granville, a sustainable city living magazine, titled “‘Real food’ resolutions for 2010″. There, I asked myself and my food-loving readers, “As we aspire to become more health- and socially conscious toward food, do we sometimes go overboard and lose sight of the big picture?”.
On one end of the spectrum, society is neglecting fundamental nutrition and are overindulging in unnatural, processed food-stuff. Way on the other end are pious foodies that care more about how “heirloom” their vegetables or how “ancient” their grains are than how they play into a balanced diet. Such mentalities segregate this group away from an essential part of food enjoyment: sharing with loved ones.
Corrine, a registered dietitian, combats such issues with delicious, healthy, and practical recipes using whole foods. She breaks down what “real food” is in sincere and light-hearted manner and keeps her readers informed without being preachy. I love her clean and effective layout. Also, the colours of her stunning photos really pop, just as I imagine the flavours would.
